Truck steering system refers to the vehicle's direction of travel controlled by the steering device during driving, which mainly includes the steering mechanism and the steering transmission mechanism. The steering mechanism refers to the connection mechanism between the steering wheel and the steering knuckle, which is used to convert the movement of the joystick into the steering movement of the front wheel; the steering transmission mechanism transmits the rotational movement of the steering mechanism to the steering wheels on both sides, usually composed of a transmission rod, a gear, a rack, etc.
Types and functions Manual steering system: The movement of the steering mechanism is controlled by the movement of the joystick, and the rotation of the joystick drives the rotation of the steering knuckle, thereby realizing the steering of the vehicle. Power steering system: A power steering device is added to the traditional steering system, and the movement of the joystick is assisted by hydraulic or electronic control to reduce the driver's operating force. Electric power steering system (EPS): The electric power steering device is used, and the working state of the booster is controlled by the electronic control unit, which improves the flexibility and convenience of operation. Active steering system: The vehicle-mounted sensors and actuators are used to intelligently control the steering system through the vehicle-mounted electronic control unit to realize the active steering of the vehicle and improve safety and vehicle stability.
Common faults and solutions
The steering wheel becomes heavier or the steering sensitivity decreases: There may be a problem with the power steering system. Check whether the power pump is damaged, whether the hydraulic oil is sufficient and free of impurities, whether there is air in the hydraulic pipeline, etc. Hydraulic oil deterioration or impurities in the oil: It will affect the performance of the system and even damage the power pump. Replace the hydraulic oil in time and ensure the oil quality is good. Air in the hydraulic pipeline: It will cause steering difficulties and wear of other parts of the system. Check the tightness of the oil seal and replace the hydraulic oil correctly.
